Here it is. The basics of intuitive eating. The basics of healing your relationship with food. From the originals. Intuitive Eating was the first book I read on any of this anti-diet, heal your relationship with food, ED recovery stuff. It totally changed my life. And you know I don’t really say things like that ever.

I hope that you’ll be intrigued enough to go buy the book and read more. The authors do a fabulous job telling stories, explaining basics of intuitive eating, and highlighting examples of everything they talk about. You will definitely find yourself in the book, almost as if they got into your head. (Not in the creepy way, though.)

I think that when venturing on this journey of intuitive eating, or whatever you want to call it, it is important to look at each principal with equal importance. There are 10 principals for a reason and we got to look at each one. It’s not enough to notice your hunger-fullness when you don’t accept your body. It’s not enough to discover the satisfaction factor if you aren’t looking at your emotional experience. Go one at a time. Out of order, if you want or need to. And go slowly. Remember, you did not develop the current relationship you have with food overnight. It won’t take overnight to heal it.

"Intuitive eating is not dieting. It is self-care. If someone is promoting intuitive eating as a diet, run the other way." - Rachelle Heinemann
